Fighting poverty with entrepreneurship and trade! CTS’s seminar in Almedalen on July 5

Welcome to our seminars in Visby, Sweden, on July 5. Be inspired by business initiatives which make a difference and give bang for the buck.

Fighting poverty with entrepreneurship and trade!

Business plays a key role for fighting poverty in developing countries and governments should put higher priority on strengthening the private sector. Come and be inspired by business initiatives which make a difference and give bang for the buck for development. A well-functioning private sector equals job opportunities and economic development. But a “healthy” private sector is not something to take for granted, especially not in a developing country. Private companies, especially SME’s, in developing countries operate against all odds with numerous barriers both within their company operations and externally tied to the business climate. We will present some key initiatives and models which all have poverty reduction, economic growth and trade as a common goal. Entrepreneurship and SME’s will be one important focus as well as empowering women businesses. Linking businesses in developing countries to value chains and markets will also be discussed.

Time:     Tuesday July 5, 10:00-11:30
Place:    Bolagets konferenslokal ”Magister Gustavsson” Finngränd 6, Visby
