Ethiopia Launches Leadership Mentorship

The Addis Ababa Chamber of Commerce (AACCSA) is the eighth CTS partner to launch a Leadership Mentorship program for its member companies as part of the CTS Chamber Academy. One target group for the mentees participating is entrepreneurs with at least 5 years of business experience, that have a business plan and want to grow their business. A second more advanced target group is entrepreneurs with longer experience that want to take their business to the next step.

Emebet Tesfaye, coordinates AACCSA’s mentorship program where also the Ethiopian Chamber of Commerce (ECCSA) is participating. The interest has been very positive from member companies and in the end of November 2015 AACCSA hosted a full day workshop for the mentors and mentees enrolled in this pilot.

Malin Dacke has been responsible for managing the project from CTS. The morning session focused on creating a platform of common understanding for what the mentorship program is aiming at; the role of the mentor and the role of the mentee, as well as goal setting for the mentees to give the best possible take off for the program. The afternoon session focused on developing your personal leadership and encouraging leaders to reach their full potential. CTS invited Christina Stenberg, a Swedish senior leadership advisor to share her experiences and tools when coaching business leaders.

With this event AACCSA’s 1-year programme has been launched and AACCSA will arrange different kinds of networking events for the participants to continue sharing experiences among the participants during the year. Business leaders that would like to join as mentors or as mentees can contact AACCSA and fill in a form to register for the 2016-group.
